My First Affiliate Partners

Well, I decided on my first affiliate partners. I'm going to start simple with Survey and Get Paid To (or GPT) sites. I can join and promote my affiliate sites for free plus I can make money completing surveys and orders while building up a base of affiliates.

I enjoy completing surveys and offering feedback and now I can get paid to do that and paid to show other people how to do the same.

After considerable research, I've decided on five Survey/GPT companies to partner with. The five companies allow for the largest number of participants (either geographically or by age) and the best affiliate payouts.

Without further adieu, here are my five picks:

CashCrate.com - CashCrate is an international program for people age 13+ (minors need their parents permission).

In addition to paying set amounts for every offer/survey completed, CashCrate pays a percentage of whatever earnings every affiliate you personally refer earns, plus a percentage of every affiliate referral they refer. The amount you will receive depends on how many active referrals you have, but will never go lower than 20% for personal referrals and 10% for second level referrals. Those percentages can go as high as 30% and 20% respectively.

Also, when a personal referral earns $10, you will earn a $3 bonus.

Everyone should join CashCrate.com since it's open to the widest group of people and has an outstanding pay plan.

SpareStash.com - Limited to English speakers age 18 and up.

I was paid a $3 bonus just for signing up. The affiliate program pays 16% for level 1 referrals and 7% for level two referrals.

With a $3 bonus just for signing up and pretty good affiliate payouts, SpareStash.com is a winner. Give it a shot.

BeachBums.com might be the new kid on the block, but it's a must join for those of you from the U.S. and Canada. You also need to be 18 or older for this program.

What makes BeachBums so compelling? Four levels of payouts! 15% on the first level, 7 % on the second, 3% on the third, and 2 % on the fourth. I also got $2 just for signing up.

Also, since it's a brand new program, there aren't a lot of members yet. Get in on the ground floor. Join BeachBums.com.

GangsterGreed.com is a solid choice for U.S. Citizens. Affiliates must be at least 13, but minors need parents permission.

GangsterGreed pays 25% on the first level, 6.25% on the second, and 1.56% on the third level.

GangsterGreed.com is a solid program if you meet the residency requirements. A must for those under 18 looking for a program (get your parent's permission).

DealBarbiePays.com is a great program for U.S. residents at least 18 years old.

You'll receive $5 just for signing up. It also has a three level pay plan, paying 15% on level one, 3% on level 2, and 2% on level three. You will also receive $1 for each referral that completes at least one offer.

DealBarbiePays also has the best contests I've seen of any of the programs.

DealBarbiePays.com is a very strong program that anyone that qualifies for it should join. The five dollar bonus makes this a pretty easy program to entice people to sign up for.

Well, there they are. Take a look at my poll and vote for which program you think is the best fit for you.

Welcome to Affiliate Diaries

Welcome to Affiliate Diaries. My name is Kimberly Squires and this blog is going to follow my path in Affiliate Marketing.

I encourage you to follow along too. See what I'm doing. If you're interested in Affiliate Marketing, try out some of the techniques I use that work and either modify or ignore the ones that don't work as well. If you're experienced with online marketing, feel free to provide some expertise that will help us all grow.

I will show you exactly what affiliates I'm promoting and how I'm promoting them. I will keep you informed of my progress. I'm hoping to make this an educational experience for all of us.

As someone who's followed the internet marketing industry for a few years, I haven't actually tried to implement any of what I've learned. That's changing now!

I decided the best way for me to start is with affiliate marketing since my budget is extremely low. I decided to purchase hosting through Dreamhost.com since all the gurus say you'll need a website. Research led me to Dreamhost.com which only runs me $19.95 per month and provides SIGNIFICANT disk space and bandwidth.

I also signed up for Aweber.com since again all the gurus say you need to build a list to make money online. Aweber.com is considered the leading autoresponder out there and gives a 30 trial run. Again at $19.95 per month, I'll need to make about $40 per month to break even since my marketing costs early on are going to be $0.

My only other expense to date has been to register the AffiliateDiaries.com domain name. I'm not sure what, if anything I'll do with that site yet, but I figured an investment of $8.88 is worth registering that name.

As of now, I've signed up for two affiliate programs: Dreamhost.com and
Aweber.com. I'm not going to actively promote these two programs at this time, but after significant research, I feel comfortable recommending both companies.

For right now, this is the only post I'm planning on mentioning these companies in and I'm mentioning it for two reasons. First, I want to be as transparent as possible. Secondly, if you want to give internet marketing a shot, you will likely need a website and autoresponder, so I figured I should give you my recommendations.

Well, that's all I've got for now. Look back soon to see the first affiliate programs I plan to promote. Please leave comments, questions, etc as I want this to be an interactive process that benefits all of us.
